Allahyarham Tan Sri Dato’ Ahmad bin Perang (Tok Mat Perang) berasal dari Johor Bahru. Beliau telah menempa sejarah negara sebagai warganegara pertama dilantik sebagai Pengurus Besar Keretapi Tanah Melayu (KTM) pada tahun 1961. Selepas kemerdekaan, kerajaan Persekutuan telah merancang untuk memberikan jawatan-jawatan penting kepada anak Melayu tempatan dalam perkhidmatan kerajaan termasuklah pentadbiran KTM yang sebelum itu hanya dijawat oleh pegawai-pegawai asing (expatriate). Atas pengalaman luas beliau sebagai seorang Pegawai Tadbir dalam Perkhidmatan Tadbir Negeri Johor (PTNJ) atau Johor Civil Service (J.C.S.) telah membolehkan Tok Mat Perang menjadi calon yang paling layak dilantik oleh kerajaan Persekutuan menjawat jawatan Pengurus Besar KTM.<br/><br/>Buku ini merupakan sebuah buku biografi bergambar yang amat menarik untuk dibaca oleh semua lapisan masyarakat bagi menghayati dan menelusuri kisah hidup seorang tokoh pentadbir yang banyak berjasa kepada kerajaan Johor serta kerajaan Persekutuan. |
