Adat tradisional dan budaya adalah bahagian daripada kepercayaan, pengetahuan atau tingkah laku yang diwarisi daripada satu generasi kepada generasi yang lain dalam sekelompok manusia. Adat tradisional sesebuah masyarakat melibatkan budaya, nilai, kepercayaan, peraturan dan bahasa yang unik dan tersendiri. Amalan hidup yang unik ini membentuk kebanggaan dan identiti masyarakat terutama dalam kalangan penduduk minoriti peribumi. Walau bagaimanapun, pemodenan dan perbandaran menghakis dan mengancam kelestarian budaya tradisional penduduk peribumi. Sehubungan itu, adalah penting untuk mendokumentasikan dan menilai kritis keunikan tradisi dan budaya penduduk minoriti peribumi agar menjadi rujukan zaman.<br/><br/>Buku ini memerikan khazanah tradisi warisan dan adat istiadat suku kaum Dusun di Ranau, Sabah berdasarkan kajian lapangan yang dijalankan selama dua tahun bersama narasumber tempatan. Di samping itu, buku ini memberi pengenalan berkenaan dengan keistimewaan tradisi warisan bagi penduduk peribumi dan sejagat umumnya serta khusus kepada budaya kearifan tempatan di Sabah. Hasil kajian lapangan ini berupaya menjadi rujukan kepada generasi yang akan datang dalam konteks keunikan tradisi dan budaya penduduk peribumi di Malaysia terutama bagi suku kaum Dusun di Ranau, Sabah. |
